Pino(t): the one and only
The One and only is the last cuvée that we bottled using Pinot Noir, a grape variety we stopped producing due to its great fragility. This exceptional wine was produced using grapes from the 2004 harvest, a magnificent year for this grape from an old vine.
When we abandoned the Pinot noir, we made a member of the family rather unhappy. Giuseppe Lottero, Marino’s brother, is an aficionado of this grape variety and is nicknamed – as luck would have it – “Pino”.
This wine is like Giuseppe: large, round and sensitive, and possessing undeniable strength while remaining righteous and gentle. This wine resembles the kind of uncle we all dreamed of having, in times of hardship or moments of happiness.
